Product Spotlight: Haas Jordan Umbrellas

All the gloomy and rainy weather we’ve had over the past few weeks has left me in need of an umbrella more times that I want to count! Some of our favorite umbrellas are from Haas Jordan. All of their umbrellas are high quality and will stand up to wind and heavy rain. Whether you’re using a Haas Jordan umbrella on a golf course or running errands around town these umbrellas will keep you dry.

Our favorite golf umbrella is the Pro Line which is available in 21 different color combinations. You can print your logo or promotion in up to 7 colors on the panels. Haas Jordan also has umbrellas with wooden handles. We recently did a promotion for a client who gave The Eagle out at their annual investors’ conference. We had a panel of the umbrella imprinted with their logo as well as the handle was engraved in two different areas.

Golf umbrellas aren’t for everyone-if you’re not on the golf course or have a lot of space to use a 60” umbrella they can be a real pain to use. But don’t worry you don’t have to buy golf umbrellas to get the Haas Jordan quality. They also make Personal Pop-up Umbrellas and Fashion Umbrellas that are great for walking to work with or running errands.

Small Tokens of Appreciation

Maybe you don’t have the budget right now to start a large employee recognition or employee gifting program. But that doesn’t mean you can’t show your employees any appreciation! Small gifts of gratitude go a long way with employees-especially during stressful times of layoffs and cutbacks in budgets.

There’s nothing like a nice hot cup of tea on a cold day. Increase employee morale with individually packaged gourmet coffee, cocoa, cappuccino, tea, apple cider, or chai. Nobody likes to leave the warm office to grab a needed cup of coffee and few people find vending machine coffee delicious or satisfying. Adding individually packaged gourmet drinks to your break-room for employees to enjoy (for free) is a great and inexpensive way to increase employee morale. Take the gift one step further and have an inspirational or thank-you message printed on each package.

Just remember, smaller budgets don’t mean you can’t show appreciation for a job well done. Call us today for other budget-friendly employee appreciation gift ideas!

Promotions for Non-Traditional “Holidays”

Catch your employees or clients off guard with a promotion for any of the select dates below. We all expect gifts for the holidays but we’re not expecting anything for Ample Time Day (desk toy, mini game- are just some of my suggestions). Don’t let your final marketing and advertising dollars go to waste this year with a forgettable gift. I mean really– how many mugs, boxes of candy, or cookies does one person really need?!

Day Light Savings- November 1 – Just remember that you SRING ahead and FALL behind!

Ample Time Day- November 8 – No complaining that there are just not enough hours in the day today! There’s plenty of time for everything today, ok, ok even if there really isn’t-you could take a few minutes and pretend like you’ve got all the time in the world.

Cookie Cutter Week - December 1-7 (obviously just one day of cookie cutters is not enough!)- Is your company located in a geographic area well known for something? We’re in Annapolis, which is known for the Naval Academy and crabs- maybe we’ll send our out-of-state clients crab cookie cutters-hmm that’s a good idea, we might use it-keep an eye on your mail box! I have a feeling that there’s no limit of cookie cutters out there, so if you think this promo is for you-call us we’ll find your shape.

Hand Washing Awareness Week – December 1-7 – Proper hand washing is crucial to help prevent the spread of diseases and germs. Say hello to health and cleanliness and give out branded anti-bacterial hand sanitizer.

Winter Solace- December 21 - The shortest day of the year. Do a winter promo! Remind your clients you’re getting though the long winter with them.

National Thank You Note Day - December 26- Unfortunately, I think handwritten ‘thank you’ notes are becoming things of the past. There’s just something somewhat insincere about a ‘thank you’ email (maybe it’s just me.) Take the time to write your clients or employees a few thoughtful words-trust me meaningful words, telling someone you appreciate their business or hard work go a long way with anyone. Order custom stationary now so you’re prepared!

November is also…
Aviation History Month
Family Literacy Month
Healthy Skin Awareness Month
Lung Cancer Awareness Month

December is also…
National Tie Month
National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month
National Safe Toys & Gifts Month

Product Review: New OGIO Performance Polos

Perhaps best known for golf bags and graphic t-shirts, OGIO has recently introduced apparel geared more towards corporate markets. After taking a look at some of their new and apparel, I have narrowed down some of my favorites.

First, I should note, OGIO’s new apparel is basic- so far I’ve seen a few polos and jackets but I must say I like what I’m seeing. If you’re looking for polos with fresh colors and details then check out OGIO performance polos:

OGIO Caliber 2.0 is a classic polo performance polo with rib knit collar and cuffs, triple-needle shoulders and hem, 3-button placket with OGIO dyed-to-match buttons, OGIO logo on the left sleeve, and side vents. (Women’s option also available) MSRP $31.98

TheOGIO Accelerator polo has under arm rib knit black panels, 3-snap square placket with debossed logo metal snaps, open hem sleeves, OGIO logo on left sleeve, and side vents. MSRP $39.98

OGIO Handlebar polo has horizontal texture and cross-grain panels on the shoulders, inner placket, and sleeves. Other features: 2-snap square placket with debossed logo metal snaps, open hem sleeves , OGIO logo on the left sleeve, and side vents with logo metal rivet. MSRP $39.98

My favorite feature on all of the new OGIO apparel, so far, is the discreetness of the OGIO brand. I can’t tell you how many clients love brand name shirts but don’t buy them because of an obnoxiously placed logo. The best place for brand logos (if you are gearing apparel towards corporate and promotional markets) is the sleeve which is just what OGIO did. While our clients want the brand name, they don’t want their brand logo overshadowed or competing by another brand.

I’m not the only one raving about OGIO’s polos. We have shown them to some clients and received positive feedback and orders. Mostly, our client’s are attracted to the style and price the performance polos. Trust me, I see a lot of polos in corporate markets and it’s refreshing to see a little style. While these are polos, they don’t look like they should only be worn on the golf course. So if you’re looking for a corporate gift consider OGIO polos for their style, versatility and office-appropriate factor.
